Martha Lee Anne Laret, MS, RDN, LDN

Nutrition Therapist | Birmingham, Alabama Office + Virtual

Martha Lee Anne’s (MLA’s) earliest food memories are of picking peas, shucking corn, and eating warm slices of freshly cut watermelon with her family at her grandparents’ home in rural South Alabama. Growing up in a home that encouraged her love for creativity, connection, and storytelling, Martha Lee Anne pursued a BS in English at Auburn University. A few years later, after a personal journey back to her early roots of intuitive eating and body freedom, she went on to earn both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Nutrition with the hope of bringing food freedom to others.

Martha Lee Anne began her career in 2015 as a Registered Dietitian and nutrition counselor working with adolescents, college students, and adults at a privately owned eating disorder center at the PHP and IOP levels of care. With a love of teaching others how to integrate weight inclusive practices into their work, she went on to precept for upcoming dietitians at The University of Alabama at Birmingham as well as move into a teaching/supervision role as Dietary Director at her office.

Previously married, widowed, and a single mother for most her son’s early life, she is remarried to her French husband, Bastien (who loves baking) and living in Birmingham, Alabama. She’s a self-taught painter and loves gentle yoga or gardening, going on walks, watching movies, and cooking with her family in her free time. Martha Lee Anne has vast eating disorder, HAES, and body image experience and has a deep appreciation for the wisdom gained from her life experiences as well.
